INTERPRETING

The interpreting service is carried out by experienced professionals within the framework of arbitral hearings, conventions, conferences, company meetings, board meetings, conference calls and any other occasion requiring an immediate oral translation. According to the Client requirements, Athena offers services such as liaison, telephone, conference (simultaneous and consecutive) and whispered interpreting.

• Liaison Interpreting, in Italy and abroad: the simplest and cheapest option, with the interpreter translating sentence by sentence. This is the ideal solution for your business negotiations.
• Telephone or Teleconference Interpreting: used when it is not possible to gather in the same place all the speakers involved, be it for time, space or distance reasons.
• Conference (Simultaneous) Interpreting (with or without equipment): it is the perfect solution for conferences or meetings with a huge number of participants, where the interpreters (at least two, in order to ensure a flawless rendering of the speech) translate immediately the words uttered by the speaker. The participants can listen to the translation thanks to individual headsets.
• Consecutive Interpreting: it is the best option for meetings with a limited number of participants, or for conferences with a larger audience but a single speaker. The speaker talks freely and the interpreter translated the speech at regular intervals, summarizing it on the bases of previously taken notes.
• Legal Consecutive Interpreting: it is the perfect service for arbitrations, international legal hearings, foreign witness examinations and every legal context in general. The interpreter performs a consecutive translation, on the basis of shorthand notes (or a stenotype transcript), in order to provide the audience with a verbatim version of the speech in the target language, even after several minutes of speech.
• Chuchotage (Whispered Interpreting): it is the ideal solution for a single customer. The interpreter whispers a simultaneous translation of the speech while sitting next to the customer, who in turn may also listen to the original words of the speaker.

TRANSLATION

Every translation request is treated as an independent project and given to the translator with the greatest experience in the relevant field, in order to obtain a final product of a high standard. Athena can provide simple or sworn translations of any subject matter (legal, technical, financial and so on) from Italian to the main European and extra European languages and vice versa.

• Standard Translation: carried out by professional translators, university graduated and with several years of experience in the field. Standard translation is the cheapest solution if you need to have a correct translation of a document, which is nevertheless intended for an internal use and/or it will have no official value.
• Revised Translation: Carried out by professional translators, university graduated and with several years of experience in the field, these translations are also revised by another expert (whose mother tongue is the target language of the translation), in order to ensure an excellent quality of the translated text, when the final result really matters.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE TRANSCRIPTION SERVICE

Athena can provide a foreign language transcription service from any source (analog or digital files) to produce a written record of arbitral hearings, defensive investigations, conventions, conferences, university lectures, company meetings, board meetings, conference calls, typescripts, handwritten documents and so on. Our professionals are able to operate in different foreign languages during a single event and can provide abstracts of the event and video recording services.

STENOTYPE REPORTING

The English language automated stenotype reporting service, a feather in Athena’s cap, assures the greatest accuracy and a delivery of the final product in record time. It is generally adopted to produce a written record of arbitral hearings, defensive investigations, conventions, conferences, university lectures, company meetings, board meetings, conference calls and any other event. After a revision phase the oral speech will be transformed into a readable text. According to the instructions received, the final report will be either verbatim or skilfully edited, to remove from the written text the language flaws typical of speech. In any case, Athena will be able to provide a fast, punctual and tailor-made service.

SWORN TRANSLATION

The certified and/or sworn translation service is executed from any source (analog, digital and paper). A sworn translation is provided every time a Client requires an official declaration by the expert translator related to the exact correspondence of the translated text with the original version.
